LEGO® Castle Forest Ambush 70400 Review

Back in August LEGO® very kindly sent Spud two of their new products from the LEGO® Castle range, firstly we reviewed The Gatehouse Raid (LEGO® set 740402) if you missed that review, you can find it here. This post is all about the Castle Forest Ambush, LEGO® set 70400.

On our way to Legoland a few Sunday's ago, Spud caught site of Windsor Castle and has made me promise we will visit a castle in 2014. The lovely team invited us to Warwick Castle for the launch of the LEGO® Castle range but we was on holiday and sadly missed it. However thanks to the LEGO® Castle items Spud now has, he can let his imagination run wild.

In the box you receive 4 minifigures with weapons and accessories: 2 King's Knights, 2 Dragon soldiers, a guard dog, all the bricks and items you need to build and create the Forest Ambush and of course the trusted and well illustrated LEGO® manual.

Spud quickly got to work building his new set, and as usual, started on the mini figures first, in this case, he put the 4 mini figures together, the 2 King's Knights and the 2 Dragon Soldiers along with their weapons.

Next up he started working on the rest of the Forest Ambush set, the set has a small piece of for both sides, the King's Knights who are carrying the gold to safely and the Dragon soldiers who are planning an ambush!

Help the brave knights to repel the Forest Ambush! Take the chest of gold and treasure safely back to the castle on the armored cart. When the path through the forest is suddenly blocked by a fallen tree, fend off the Dragon soldier ambush! Draw your weapons, fend off the flick-missile attack and return the gold safely to the castle!

The set was very easy to put together and Spud had no difficulty by doing it himself. The Forest Ambush set is suggested for ages 5-12 years, but I had a battle with Spud and think all Lego fans even adults would enjoy this set.

Just before I go, I can't forget to show you the little guard dog & treasure box filled with gold, jewels and other treasure, Spud brought his little LEGO® pirate boat he made by his own creativity and a LEGO® pirate who also tried to steal the gold!

That's the great thing about LEGO®, all of it is compatible with each other, no matter what set or range its from, it all goes together! Spud put his two LEGO® Castle items together, and created a stand off tournament!

Suitable for ages 5+, Available to buy with a suggested RRP of £24.99 from Toys R Us, Amazon, Debenhams, John Lewis, Tesco, Smyths, The Entertainer, Asda and many more places.
