The Costs Of Single Parent Living.

I don't think there is anything more annoying and upsetting than getting judged for something that doesn't even apply to you, just because you fit the stereotype. Giving birth and becoming a mother to my son at the age of 15 meant I have had my fair share of stereotypical views thrown at me, because a teenager couldn't possibly be a good mother, or a good role model for their child could they?

As I got older, I wasn't just judged because of how young I became a mum, but I also got judged for being a single parent, you know, because that's exactly what I dreamed to be, that's exactly the future I visioned when I first got with my son's dad, I had hopes and dreams of becoming a single parent clearly *rolls eyes*.

Our DIY Summer House Update.

Last month, I posted letting you all know about our DIY summer house, something we've made/built entirely from scratch using everything we can get our hands on, using as little money as possible. Today I thought I'd share an update with you all on how that's coming along.

Do it yourself summer house - picture from the outside.

I'm pleased to say the outside of the building is FINISHED - well it needs two tiny little triangle cuts for the top of the building BUT apart from that it's done, at least building wise! All we need for the outside now is some decorations, some furniture and some outdoor garden lights and it'll be finished!

Carters Steam Fair Review.

Is there any better feeling than reliving and experiencing magical memories with your children? Maybe it's sitting down together to watch your favourite childhood movie, or maybe its the fact their favourite restaurant is your favourite restaurant too, or maybe it's going to places that they love, which takes you back to your younger days.

Carters Steam Fair Review

For me, one of these magical moments is when Carters Steam Fair is in town. I used to go to Carters myself as a child with my family and have a blast, and now I get to witness my son and other family members enjoy the same fair I did as a child, and I also get to enjoy it now as an adult with him/them too, just like my parents and older family members did with me.

Going On Holiday? Make Sure Your Car Is Holiday Ready.

Is there anything worse than experiencing unexpected costs when you're on holiday? Imagine this, you've saved a few hundred pounds to go on holiday with, the holiday accommodation is sorted, the food and drinks are sorted, the cars still got a few months left on the MOT, you've been shopping for holiday clothes for the last however many months, and all you need to do now is countdown the days until the holiday arrives, and fill up the car with petrol.

You've saved up that money for a special day out or two, you've saved it up for fish and chips, followed by ice cream on the seafront, you've saved it up for an experience of a lifetime that you can only experience on holiday. What you haven't saved it up for is unexpected costs, like the car needing repairs, essential repairs - repairs you can't avoid.

April's 5 Money Saving Ideas.

We're now into the second quarter of the year already, time really isn't slowing down and neither are the events! March was a really expensive month for me, what with Mother's Day, my son's birthday and loads of family birthdays, and now I'm straight into another expensive month with another big event - Easter!

My birthday is also this month, and whilst I don't like celebrating big, I do think it's nice to celebrate your birthday to some extent, I'll be celebrating with a few friends - in the summerhouse/bar that isn't even finished yet! So, I have a project that needs to be finished, and no funds to fund it! April's going to be an interesting month financially, as I'll be using every power I have to try and make some money!
