Prompted by the shock of the cost of UK holidays nowadays, after much thought, I have decided to purchase a touring caravan that will be mine only and will be sure to bring many happy memories. After visiting some less than pleasant 'dealers', I had the pleasure of visiting Caravan Kingdom a used caravan and motorhome dealer in Wokingham, Berkshire, and I have to say, I came away genuinely impressed and was glad to have found them.
As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with smiles from everyone. It wasn't just the sales team who made us feel at ease either, every member of staff we passed, including the cleaners and what I assume to be mechanics/engineers, acknowledged us with a smile and a friendly hello. It might sound like a small thing, but those little touches really do make a difference and creates such a welcoming atmosphere, especially given the other experiences we'd received whilst visiting other 'dealers'.
Whether you've been caravanning for years or you're just starting to think about your first adventure on the road, finding the right dealership can make all the difference. A friendly face, honest advice and knowledgeable staff can take away so much of the stress when you're making such a big purchase, especially for me, a complete newbie to the world of caravaning!
A Huge Selection to Browse
One thing that really stood out was the wide variety of caravans and motorhomes available, with over 100 makes and models to view we was spoilt for choice. Whether you're looking for a caravan for family holidays, a motorhome for touring the UK, a compact Go Pod, a trailer tent or even a used car, Caravan Kingdom has something to suit a wide range of budgets and lifestyles. It's one of those places where you can happily spend ages wandering around, imagining all the adventures you could have.
For anyone who loves staycations as much as I do, or dreams of exploring more of the UK on a budget in a familiar space (a home from home), it's definitely worth a visit.
Knowledgeable Without Being Pushy
We've all experienced salespeople who can feel a little overwhelming. Thankfully, that wasn't the case here. The sales team were friendly, approachable and incredibly knowledgeable. They were more than happy to answer all of our questions and explain the different options available without making us feel pressured into buying anything, or making us feel silly for asking questions. It felt like they genuinely wanted to help us find the right vehicle rather than simply make a sale. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced caravanner looking for an upgrade, you'll feel comfortable asking questions here.
Customer Service That Stands Out
Customer service is something I always notice when I'm reviewing a business as you'll know from many of my past honest reviews, and Caravan Kingdom certainly deserves credit. Everyone we encountered was professional, polite and happy to help. It's refreshing to visit somewhere where the whole team clearly enjoys what they do and where customers are made to feel welcome from the moment they arrive. It's these little things that often stay with you long after you've left.
A Real Caravan Trader, No Dodginess Here!
While we were there, one conversation really stuck with me. Another customer asked whether the caravan they were interested in buying came with all of the relevant paperwork and documentation. Before the salesman could even say much more than "yes", the customer laughed and replied, "Of course it does, you're a proper trader." I thought that spoke volumes. It's the sort of reputation that isn't built overnight but earned through years of providing customers with honest service, quality vehicles and the reassurance that everything is done properly.
Hearing that from another customer says far more than any sales pitch ever could and I must admit as I'm new to the world of caravans, I wouldn't have even thought about asking that. I did say to the couple I never would have thought about that, and they explained how they had a negative experience with another used caravan business that clearly wasn't a legitimate trader.
You Learn Something New Everyday!
Another thing that really impressed me was learning about what happens before a customer even collects (or has it delivered) their caravan. Every caravan is thoroughly checked to make sure everything is working exactly as it should, giving buyers extra peace of mind before they drive away. Warranty work is also available on certain caravans and motorhomes.

The caravan/motorhome/car also receives a deep clean, so it's handed over looking its absolute best and ready for its new owners to start making memories, we noticed how clean each caravan we went in was, and even though we wasn't there to pruchase a motorhome we had to have a look inside a couple of them, just to be nosey of course, and they was spotless too.
If you're unable to collect your caravan yourself, Caravan Kingdom also offers delivery throughout the UK, making the whole buying process as convenient and stress-free as possible, and brilliant for those who don't plan to move their caravan around, but who instead plan to use a caravan for storage, or as a tempary home to live in their garden for example whilst building works are done on their home.
Would I Recommend Caravan Kingdom?
Absolutely. If you're looking for used caravans, motorhomes, Go Pods, trailer tents or simply want some friendly advice before taking the plunge for a stress free holiday, I'd definitely recommend popping into Caravan Kingdom in Wokingham. It's refreshing to find a family run dealership where you don't feel rushed, where every question is welcomed and where the customer experience genuinely feels important.
Sometimes it's not just about what's for sale, it's about the people behind the business, and Caravan Kingdom certainly has a fantastic team. If you're planning your next adventure, they're well worth a visit or two as their stock of used motorhomes, carvans and leisure vehicles is updated on a near daily basis, so it's always worth checking back if you don't find exactly what you're looking for on your first visit.
Why I'd Choose A Dealer Over A Private Sale:
As someone who is completely new to the world of caravanning, one question I kept asking myself was whether it was better to buy a used caravan privately or through a reputable caravan dealer. After visiting Caravan Kingdom and chatting to the team, I can honestly see the benefits of buying from an established dealership. Not only do you have knowledgeable people on hand to answer your questions, but you also have the reassurance that the caravan has been thoroughly checked, comes with the correct paperwork and has been professionally prepared before collection and may even come with a warranty. When you're spending thousands of pounds, that extra peace of mind is invaluable!
