If you're a regular reader or visitor to Unique Young Mum, then you may know that Christmas is my favourite time of the year! It's the one time of year that I relax that little bit more, watch lots of television - well Christmas movies to be precise, and let's not forget the Christmas jumpers, whacky hair accessories and reindeer earmuffs come out to play, when else can we do that bar Christmas time?
The advent season is very nearly upon us, and as I've enjoyed doing Advent Features previously, I just knew I had to do one again this year! What other way can we countdown to Christmas than with an advent calendar? Well, I suppose we do have the Elf On The Shelf too, and he's the one who brings the Unique Young Mum household their calendars! Plus having a foodie advent calendar is the one time of the year we can get away with eating sweet treats first thing in the morning right!? I picked this up in a Thorntons store and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was part of their 3 for 2 range. The calendar is filled with 24 solid Thornton's milk chocolates.

Filled with 24 delicious solid milk chocolate shapes, its a simple case of picking your favourite photo, and then your favourite design. Whilst picking a photo wasn't that hard, choosing which design to pick was a lot tougher! They have styles for all ages, with Santa ones for the children, and a cheeky elf one for the grown-ups, it's no wonder their slogan is “Personalise your gift with a giggle”.
If you're looking for a personalised advent calendar, then you really can't get much better than Vanilla Reindeer, with their wide range of different designs and even two styles of chocolates available - oh yes, they do a truffle one too, you can read on further to see that one too!

Last but not least, because how could we ever forget our pooches, the Pets at Home dog's chocolate advent calendar is just one of a few calendars available for dogs this year. When I picked this up in store, I also noticed other dog advent calendars, including a rawhide one, and one from Lily's Kitchen too, what's more, the calendars are also on a 3 for 2 special offer, and you know what they say, every penny saved is a penny towards the presents from Santa Paws!
