*5 Reasons You Should Take a New Year Break in Cornwall

If you’re thinking about getting away to somewhere different to celebrate the New Year, there’s only one place you need to consider and that’s Cornwall.
While they might be tasty treats, there’s more to this fascinating county than simply clotted cream and delicious pasties. Here are 5 fabulous reasons you should spend your New Year’s Eve in Cornwall.
Mousehole

Light up your New Year with the illuminations at Mousehole harbour! This quaint village goes all out with their Christmas lights and on New Year’s Eve they turn it up a notch with an impressive firework display. These festive lights are a famous tradition around these parts and have sparked a local rivalry with the nearby village of Newlyn, which has launched its own campaign for most sparkling Christmas lights. An evening here is sure to be an eye opener!
Looe

Have a fancy New Year’s Eve in Looe and join the local revellers in your best fancy dress costume. While the costume isn’t compulsory, you might feel somewhat under dressed without one! There’s a real community spirit to enjoy here and the good times spread all through the streets which are closed to traffic.
In fact, Looe was once voted 3rd best place in the UK to see in the new year, which is pretty impressive considering it comes in after only the big cities London and Edinburgh.
Newquay

Newquay is the place for party people who love a good bar crawl. Famous for its surf scene and nightlife, Newquay isn’t just for the summer. Of course, there’s the mandatory firework show over the harbour and to top it off, in line with the classic Cornish party spirit, there’s also a fancy dress carnival to enjoy.
St Minver

For something a little more low key than Newquay, just up the coast is St Minver. With a lodge holiday at Parkdean’s holiday park you can make the most of the prime location to explore the pretty villages that make up this area.
Foodies looking for fine dining this New Year’s Eve will love the village of Rock and its famous culinary scene!

It’s not just Rock that will attract food lovers; Jamie Oliver’s restaurant, Fifteen Cornwall is one of the hottest spots to enjoy New Years Eve and this year the celebrations are set to be as big as ever. Occupying a prime position overlooking the bay, it’s the perfect place to ring in the new year. This year’s party theme is prohibition so dress up in your best twenties styles and dance your socks off after you dine in style on a four course meal.
Where in Cornwall would you recommend for a great time this New Year’s Eve?
Until next time,
