Drum roll please, I am bringing something special to your attention, something that I love as a parent and something Spud loves as a child, but not just me and Spud, loads of adults and children around the world enjoy it too, LEGO®!

When the wonderful Lego team got in touch inviting me and Spud to Warwick Castle for the launch of their LEGO® range, I was gutted we couldn't attend! We had planned a little while ago to go on 'holiday' to my Mum's home in Cornwall to spend 10 days with my Mum, little sister and step Dad. Even though we was going to spend quality time with people who are close family, we was gutted we wouldn't be able to attend the event. The lovely team over at LEGO® was really nice about everything and sent Spud some of their new LEGO® Castle range to review.
First up is LEGO® Castle, The Gatehouse Raid - set 70402, the set is suggested for ages 6-12 and is the second from smallest set in the LEGO® Castle range.
Spud is becoming quite a big LEGO® fan, I love this photo above so much, I've saved it as my wallpaper on both my laptop and my phone! It's such a natural smile and its proof he loves these products!
I have not shown any of my readers yet but have a look at this photo here, this is what he received for his 7th Birthday alone from me (and 1 set very kindly from LEGO® themselves!) and it's not including all the other LEGO® he has!
Inside the box we found the LEGO® instructions, two bags of different LEGO® bricks, a very small sticker sheet and a small green plate.

First of all Spud decided he wanted to build together the mini figures, after studying the box ever since the moment it arrived, he couldn't wait to get it all together! Spud insisted I take a picture of the mini figures faces to show loyal LEGO® fans what faces you get.
You cant forget the horse too, what castle would be complete with out horses!? Well in Spud's case, a horse!
Spud couldn't wait to open the first bag to get building his very own Lego® castle! Thanks to the helpful step by step guide, he very soon had one completed castle!
Spud informed me that as the castle is blue, the mini figures sporting blue are the goodies trying to protect the castle, and then Mummy he proceeded to tell me, from all the way round the really long corner, the baddies come with a horse and a cannon and they are trying to shoot the goodies and the castle!
You don't have to worry about the baddies playing up though Mummy, Spud proceeded to tell me, because if they be really naughty they go the back of the castle and have to stay in prison!
Just like this naughty villain did, off to jail you go! I'm not quite sure what he did, but he's stayed in there ever since! Spud's been feeding him Lego® pizza courtesy of the Lego® Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles™ set he has!
Overall Spud loves his new Lego Castle range and can't wait to show his smaller set off to you next week!
