Everyone loves a good singalong, and if your Mum loves a feel good musical then this Mother's Day why not treat her to The Sapphires, a DVD due to be released on DVD on the 4th March (Mother's Day is the 10th March!) starring Chris ODowd (Bridesmaids, TV's Girls). Your Mum will sing with joy as the DVD concentrates on a sixties soul-group trying and struggling to make it big.

Talented sisters Gail, Cynthia and Julie, and their wayward cousin Kay, have killer voices and attitudes to match. Performing in a talent show contest they catch the attention of Dave Lovelace (Chris O’Dowd), a down-on-his-luck Irish musician with a penchant for whisky and a passion for soul music.

 Critics Say

“A feelgood, charm-packed treat. Chris O’Dowd is sheer perfection” Heat Magazine

“The perfect Friday night, feel-good film. Chris O’Dowd is brilliant.” Stylist Magazine

It may not sound like a match made in heaven but Dave notices a sparkling talent in the girls and realises with a few changes they could be something special….they just need the right man to help them. Billing the band as the successors to ‘The Supremes’ Dave secures the girls their first real gig and flies them to Vietnam to sing for the troops.

As they embark on a hilarious journey of highs and lows, courage and commitment, friendship and family, they discover that all you need to succeed is a little heart….and a lot of soul.

Available to pre-order now from Sainsbury's and Amazon.

Hello lovelies, considering Mother's Day is only 11 days away, I thought it was time to get the lovely Mother's Day feature started. I've only been around a little over six months, so this is my first Mother's Day feature on Unique Young Mum. I truly believe there is something featured for each and every Mum out there, from organics to chocolates, from wine to pink champagne soap I have it covered, well nearly ;) Just bare with me and I will introduce you to some of the cutest and unique Mother's day gifts around.

My own beautiful, amazing, sweet, funny and lovely Mother had announced two week's ago she is moving 4 hours away, sadly the move is happening next Saturday (the 9th), just one day before Mother's day so this year we are celebrating a week early.

Mother's day is a day to spend quality time with our Mother's, to give them a day off the housework, the cooking, the tidying, Mother's day is a day to spoil our Mother's, to present them with some of the beautiful gifts around.
The banner above has all the names of the brands and companies involved in the feature so far, each day I will be writing up two/three post showing off these companies truly special Mother's day gifts.

Make sure you bookmark the blog, sign up or remember to check back to not miss one post in the Mother's day feature!

Until next time,

Another Disney post, I know, I know.. I'm sorry for all you non Disney fans out there, but if you check out my about me page, your soon discover Spud is a huge Disney fan and some of my past post can prove just that! I love England, we have London, one of the most popular city's in the World, we have safe weather (no tornado's or bad thunder storms), lots of castle's and let's not forget we have a Royal family! Everyone need's to get away sometimes, weather your alone, a couple or a family, you all need to have fun, excitement and magic in your holiday at some point, well Disneyland can offer all that and much much more!

I remember being a child and seeing the Disneyland adverts on the TV, ringing a freephone number whilst Mum was cooking in the kitchen to request a free video, how I envied the children on those adverts, how I desperately wanted to meet Belle from the Classic Disney film, Beauty & the Beast. Just from watching those adverts, my eyes would sparkle, filled with magic, if your a Disney fan, the magic never end's, no matter how young or old you are. When I had Spud, the Disney within me carried on through him, I dressed him in Winnie The Pooh and Tiger outfits, I purchased Winnie The Pooh dummies, bottles, teethers, rattles, you name it, Spud had it. When Spud started watching TV, he always took an interest to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, the bond has never broke to this day, I doubt it ever will!

Not wanting Spud to grow up before he meets his idol, I've been looking at Disneyland prices, travel and accommodation these last few weeks, yes 'Mickey Mouse' came to his Birthday party, but that wasn't the real Mickey Mouse, just a quick look at the mascot we hired can confirm that. Not too keen on flying myself, and not wanting to take Spud on such a long flight for his first time flying, I've been looking around at some cruises, with the recent scandal's that have gone on with 'unfamiliar' cruise companies, only the best will do for me and my boy, Virgin Holiday Cruises that is of course! I've heard from the minute you step aboard, the whole journey, experience and holiday is amazingly magical, memories that will stay with you forever, a memory making children's dreams come true!

Until next time,

Along with Anisha's Adventure's In Bangladesh (read my review of the book here) we was also sent Gorgeous George & The Giant Geriatric Generator book also from My Little Big Town, the synopsis starts off with, bogies, baddies, bagpipes and bums! Farting, false teeth and lots of fun! Spud was instantly drawn in with the word 'bogies and 'farting'.
George witnesses something rather disturbing from his bedroom window late one night. People are disappearing fast and no one seems to care. Why are the people of Little Pumpington so miserable? Why has his evil teacher started smelling of wee? Why is Mr Watt so fat? Why does Mr Jolly the Janitor collect hundreds of pairs of false teeth in a cupboard in his workshop? And what will happen when mad Kenny sticks two crayons up his nose?

During detention George discovers a secret stash of soggy tea-bags and a hundred boxes of broken biscuits hidden in a mysterious tunnel beneath the school. Can Gorgeous George (who’s not really gorgeous at all) solve these mysteries with the help of his Grandpa Jock, the wild-haired ginger Scotsman before Grandpa Jock deafens the whole town with his bagpipes?
A fantastic read for anyone who loves funny, exciting and sometimes a little gross children’s books. Equally enjoyable for adults as it is for children. Gorgeous George & The Giant Geriatric Generator is the first children’s book from author Stuart Reid. Featuring over 50 charming and humorous illustrations by UK artist Calvin Innes.
The chapters in the book are generally quite short, along with the paragraphs which are mainly 4-5 lines long apart from the odd few which are a bit longer. The book is suitable for a reading age of 9+ but that didn't mean I couldn't read it to Spud, we are only up to chapter 8 at the moment but already the book has had Spud in fits of laughter. Spud moan's that there is not enough pictures but laughs at the ones that are illustrated by Calvin Innes.
I will admit, for me being the real girly girl I am, the book has even made me laugh out loud at times,  so for it to appeal to me, I am sure the book will appeal to younger girls as well as boys! The book is 288 pages long but me and Spud are already on page 97 ready to start chapter 11, because the paragraphs and chapters are quite short, along with the illustrated pictures, it has only took us 3 nights to get to where we are.
Gorgeous Geoge & The Giant Geriatric Generator is available to buy with a suggested RRP of £7.99 from online book stores Amazon, WHSmiths and directly from My Little Big Town Publishing.
To find out more about Little Big Town publishers check out the official website here.

Until next time,

Lionsgate very kindly sent Spud the newly released Ape Escape DVD, the DVD is based on the best selling video games Ape Escape, join Specter and his minions for wacky monkey mayhem in a series of colourful Ape Escape adventures!

Specter, the leader of the ape world, was just an ordinary ape at the zoo. That is until a “pipo-helmet,” which was invented by a brilliant, but absent minded, Professor, was accidentally dropped into his cage. When Specter puts the intelligence-boosting helmet on, he is suddenly given the intelligence of a human and even starts to look human. What is a super intelligent ape to do in a world dominated by people?

The DVD consist of 19 mini episodes each running for 2-3 minutes at a time, the whole DVD is only 46 minutes long, great for when Mummy needs to do her hair and make up for a certain time, but you can't put a film on because the little ones will want to watch the whole film!
Neither me or Spud had heard of Ape Escape before, even though it has apparently been around since the PlayStation 1 days! I was a PlayStation 1 child, I was also a PlayStation 2 child, how I remember those days arguing with my little brother for who's turn was next!
Spud wasn't that keen on the DVD, to be honest he wasn't interested in the DVD after the first 10-12 episodes, Spud didn't like the fact that the episodes were so short and couldn't get to know the characters because he didn't know them, I passed the DVD onto my not so little any more brother, who's 21 this year and is a current PlayStation 3 'child' he didn't understand why Spud didn't like the DVD and told me it was simply 'genius', then again he is a gaming geek so knew what Ape Escape was, unlike me and Spud.
In my opinion, the DVD is great for any gaming fan or any Ape Escape fan, the Ape Escape DVD  was released on the 18th of February and is available to buy with a suggested RRP of £7.99 from Amazon or Zavvi.com
Until next time,

Fox's biscuits have done the deed on me, I am on a diet Fox's, what are you doing to me! If you have no clue what I am talking about, take a seat, sit down and prepare yourselves for what I am about to tell you! Fox's have only gone and released a limited edition Rocky bar, the flavour I hear you ask is double choc orange!!
If any of my family or friends are reading this, I am sure they are smiling, thinking of the times at Christmas when I hijack the festive treats dishing out any chocolate orange related ones for myself, requesting chocolate orange segments in my stocking from the wonderful Father Christmas is just not enough! I'll even trade in my 1 Direction poster for a piece of chocolate orange! I think its safe to say, my favourite chocolate, Ok.. I won't lie, one of my favourite chocolate types is anything orangery!

So I'd just like to say thanks to Vinnie, the panda (from the TV advert) who makes me giggle every time
he says Fox's because it is down to him why I don't have any picture's of us munching away at these beautiful treats, it's hard enough to catch a photo of me striking a pose, let alone eating orange chocolate related products! Vinnie's the face of Fox's and as I don't have anyone else to blame for the reason as to why I had 5 of these bars in the space of 4 days, then I'm just going to say Vinnie intimidated me OK, he forced me into that chair and whiffed them Rocky bars under my nose!
Rocky Double Choc Orange boasts a chocolatey base and the sweet flavour of orange cream, all wrapped up in a super delicious milk chocolate layer, can you blame me for eating so many of them? If Spud and my friend didn't like them, I would of easily demolished the whole packet, here's hoping the calories are not bad ;)
Available in a pack of nine individually wrapped bars, this new limited edition range is the perfect treat for an exciting day out, as a tasty snack on the go, or as a special treat in the children's lunchbox!
Offering double the fun with a twist, Rocky Double Choc Orange is available for a limited time only in all major supermarkets with a suggested RRP of £1.59, so why don't you pick up a pack and let the adventure begin!

To find out more about Fox's biscuits including the Rocky range check out the official website here, find them on Facebook here or follow them on Twitter here.
Until next time,

Another fabulous WOW Toys set has made its way into the family, this time along with the My Pocket Pets that I reviewed here, Little Big Man gave Pet Rescue Percy a real test! Little Big Man is Autistic, one of the many symptoms of children with Autism is there obsession with one particular thing and Little Big Man's obsession is for animals, being Autistic, Little Big Man struggles to interact with other children, its very important for him to have his own separate toys away from his baby brother Baby Boo and any other child he comes into contact with, LBM is happy to share any toys with any other child, apart from his animals.

The Pet Rescue Percy set is suitable for 18 months+ and is a 4 piece set, the pet rescue vehicle Percy, the vet Rolf, Socks the cat and Bonny the dog. The set helps with sound to aid development, sensory stimulation & motor skill development, discovery & learning, social interaction and role-play & exploration.

Pet Rescue Percy is a motorised pet rescue vehicle, it has a rotating pet feeder on the back which makes low clicking sounds (part of LBM Autism is he hates loud sounds and noises, at nursery he has special ear defenders for when the other children sing and produce other loud activities). Rolfe, Socks and Bonny are all removable from the rescue vehicle meaning your child can play with them with or without Percy.

We couldn't get Little Big Man to look up at the camera, he was too busy lost in a world of imagination with his new toy.
The set has very detailed stickers, with the help of these stickers, LBM treated his pets with the vet's Rolf medicane and then rotated them to feed them. As with the other WOW Toys products we have reviewed, Pet Rescue Percy is a reliable toy, it's not cheap plastic, the colours are clear and bold and overall they really do appeal to children, the best thing for us parents has to be the fact that no batteries are required!

Pet Rescue Percy is available to buy with a suggested RRP of £16.99 from Tesco, Amazon, Enchanted Wood, Play.com to say the least.

To find out more about WOW Toys, check out the official website here, find them on Facebook here and follow them on Twitter here.

Until next time,

As I have mentioned many times before, Spud and myself are big Disney fans, when doing Spud's bedroom last year, we searched high and low for a Mickey Mouse mid-sleeper bed but unfortunately had no joy, instead he settled for one of his other Disney favourite's Toy Story!

The Toy Story Flight Control Buzz Lightyear is a luxury step up from the standard Buzz Lightyear Spud has, before Littlewoods very kindly sent us this toy for review, all Spud had was a Buzz Lightyear plush we won out of a arcade machine whilst on holiday a few years ago.

Spud's new friend Buzz is a talkative fello as you will all know from the 3 Toy Story films. Flight Control Buzz Lightyear lives up to this reputation with more than 50 phrases and sounds effects ready to hurl at you.

Spud kept pretending to be asleep!
With motion sensors Buzz knows when you are hurling him up or down, he lights up, makes noises and much more. With posable arms, legs and a movable helmet this new Buzz is something for all Toy Story fans of all ages!

Toy Story Flight Control Buzz Lightyear is suitable for ages 3+ and is available to buy from Littlewoods for £59.00. Not only do Littlewoods do the fantastic Buzz we was sent, they also do many more Toy Story toys, hundreds of toys actually, make sure you check out the toy section!

To find out more about Littlewoods visit the official website here, find them on Facebook here or follow them on Twitter here.

Until next time,
